What Is It That We Do?

MANY READERS think that we are only in the business of publishing commercial real estate information.

I suppose this is because Property Valuation Monitor ^SM is your only contact with us. Perhaps our greatest strength, however, is in the appraisal of commercial real estate, with a specialty in appraising for assessment purposes. During the past 16 years, I have performed work for over 100 municipal assessing departments throughout New England and have qualified as an expert witness in four states. My professional designation, the ASA, carries an added specialty in appraising for assessment purposes and I also have obtained teaching certification.

Recently, I performed an appraisal consulting assignment on a multi-million dollar property for a Middlesex County, Massachusetts assessors office. And, currently I am a consultant on a city-wide reappraisal of an entire inventory of commercial properties in a major southern Maine municipality.

So, yes we are in the business of publishing and performing commercial fee appraisals for lenders, but also we specialize in working with municipal assessing departments on their most difficult of commercial properties. So, for the many assessors who receive this newsletter, for this purpose, I hope you will contact us as well.
